Erosion Control and Swales

Erosion Control in Waco

Moving water carries soil, and a bare slope or disturbed lot can lose a season of topsoil in a single Central Texas storm. Blackforestmeadery installs erosion control across Waco to keep the ground where it belongs, using silt fence, inlet protection, erosion blankets, and riprap armoring, along with graded swales that slow and steer the flow. On disturbed sites we build to the stormwater (NPDES/SWPPP) rules, so runoff leaves clean and the neighbor downhill stays dry.

Why Erosion Control Protects the Whole Site

Once water starts cutting a channel it only gets deeper, undermining beds, walks, and even footings over time. A shallow swale spreads sheet flow so it never gains that force, and riprap at the outfall breaks the energy where the water discharges. On a steep spot off Herring Avenue we can terrace the grade or add a rock check to hold the slope through the next rain.

Our Process

We assess where the water enters and where it wants to cut, then put a written scope and price in front of you. We call 811 before any digging, install the controls, and seed or blanket the bare ground so vegetation can take hold and lock the soil in place.
